ALMAWILD/ALMAWILD

With the musical project ALMAWILD, the trio of the same name arrives at a half-completely original program, with music by Predrag Marić and Milko Merloni and lyrics by Barbara Zanoni: among others, these areTake me, If you close your eyes, Listen, Throw me over, I would like itAndWhile you talk to me; for the other half with new pieces from the poetic texts of Alda Merini and other authors in different languages: Istrian by Rosanna Bubola, Istrian by Drago Draguzet, English by Andrew Wheel.

As in the previous refined project, ''Alma'', of which we can consider the wild evolution, at the center of the work remains the very value of art as a creation and expression of a beauty that pertains to the human and the soul as a flame of light that is not ordinary but inclusive with respect to the experience of living.

From eroticism to mysticism, from the dark folds of the soul to the fullness of its splendor, from everyday detail to ancestral myth, for ALMAWILD the subject of art investigation still and always concerns the entire spectrum of the human. There is no separation between life and art in this vision, there is integrity and courage in creating beauty starting from the transformation of pain and suffering with the tools and languages of art. Purity and transformation are the two principles through and around which this trio was formed by musically working the words of Alda Merini to arrive at this sound from which it takes its name: ALMAWILD.

:The volume of the singing makes me fall in love'

how I would like to invade the earth

with my poems and that she trembled all over

'under the poetry of the song

Alda Merini,The volume of the singing, 1991

From eroticism to mysticism, from the dark folds of the soul to the fullness of its splendor, from everyday detail to ancestral myth, for Barbara Zanoni, Predrag Marić and Milko Merloni the subject of art investigation concerns the entire human spectrum. Likewise, in the poetic work of Alda Merini, to whom we owe the lyrics of the songs of the ALMA project, not only is every aspect of human life included in a broad breath full of love, but everything finds its place and makes sense in 'alchemy of verse. There is no separation between life and art in this vision, there is integrity and courage in creating beauty starting from the transformation of pain and suffering with the tools and languages of art. Purity and transformation are the two principles through and around which this trio musically works the words of the great author to arrive at a completely original sound: after having individually experimented with their own expressive language in a solitary relationship with Merini's poetry, in ALMA i three artists together go through a triple and organic alchemical process that dares to open space and time to all the nuances of expression of the soul.

magic of truth and love for solo voice and dance

My thesis is that the language of poetic myth was anciently used

in the Mediterranean and northern Europe it was a magical language

(Robert Graves, The White Goddess, 1946)

In the songs of oral tradition throughout ''Ancient Europe'', traces of daily sacred magic remain, those to put children to sleep, or lullabies, are the only ones that have survived in our culture, but the vestiges of many others remain. From songs for the queen bee to those for the rain, there are numerous examples of a human way of interacting with the natural world that is extremely aware of the Earth's cycles and totally integrated in and with it; the indissoluble union between art, sacred and nature is clear; the voice and the body are at the center of culture. Our age has something to learn, much to remember... And a shamanic hunt to begin.

SYLVATICA

ERRANT SHAMANIC SONGS

SYLVATICA is a poetic-musical project focused on shamanic singing, first studied from an anthropological and ethnographic perspective and then brought back to its wild nature, that is, to the wild modes of manifestation and transmission that are specific to it, far from the new age drifts that often surround the phenomenon of shamanism in contemporary times. The voices and sounds meet here in their essential nakedness, to cross the prehistoric visanimistic ions of primordial song, with particular attention to its energetic and invisible dimension of care, awareness and enchantment. SYLVATICA is a concert that lives in that archaic and indomitable space-time intersection in which tree leaves, birds in the skies, fish in the seas have moved for millions of years. It is an exploration that brings together different traditions, from the Tuvin chants of the Siberian-Mongolian border to the epic-totemic cantatas of the Finno-Ugric area, from the Inuit songs of the Arctic Circle to original creations born for the project itself.

SYLVATICA is a collaboration between the singer and dancer Barbara Zanoni, whose artistic work pertains to the field of sacred feminine and archaic shamanism, and the harpist, poet and philologist Francesco Benozzo, author of several poems and studies on the shamanic origins of our cultures.
