S Y L V A T I C A - ERRANT SHAMANIC SONGS
SYLVATICA is a poetic-musical project centered on shamanic chanting, first studied in its anthropological and ethnographic dimension and then brought back to its wild nature, far from the new age drifts that often surround the phenomenon of shamanism in contemporary times. Voice, dance and bardic harp meet in their essential nakedness to traverse the prehistoric animistic conceptions of primordial song, with a focus on its dimension of healing, awareness and enchantment. SYLVATICA is an exploration that brings together different traditions, from the Tuvan chants of the Siberian-Mongolian frontier to the epic-animistic songs of the Finno-Ugric area, from the Inuit healing songs of the Arctic Circle to those still recognizable, in the form of cultural traces, in Central Europe.
SYLVATICA was born from the collaboration between the singer and dancer Barbara Zanoni, whose artistic work has always moved in the sphere of archaic shamanism, and the harpist, poet and philologist Francesco Benozzo, author of several studies on the shamanic origins of our cultures.
